Macri joined the board of an offshore company

Argentina President Mauricio Macri joined the board of an offshore company, with his father and his brother Mariano, according to research led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and the German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

The offshore company was registered in the Bahamas since 1998, identified as Fleg Trading Ltd, which operated until 2009, when Macri was Buenos Aires Mayor.

The president spokesmen said, «This company, was intended to participate in other non-financial corporations as investor or holding company in Brazil. It was linked to familiar business group. Hence Mr. Mauricio Macri was appointed as director occasionally without equity participation.»

And they stressed, «The participation of Mauricio Macri was circumstantial and it he only formally covered the charge in the board».
