United States President Barack Obama spoke at the UN General Assembly, noting that the wartime is left behind and we are on the path of peace.

“Let there be no doubt: the times of war are left behind. When I took office 180,000 Americans were serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, later this year that number will be reduced by half and keep going down,” Obama said.

“This is essential to the sovereignty of Iraq and Afghanistan, crucial to the strength of the U.S.,” he added.

Also he stated that “ten years ago there was a scar of rubble and twisted metal in the center of New York City, today is erecting a new tower at Ground Zero and that is a strong symbol, when Al-Qaeda now is more pressing than ever.”

Obama said that “Osama Bin Laden, a man who killed thousands of people in many countries, will not threaten world peace.”

“It’s been a difficult decade, but today we are at a crossroads of history with the opportunity to move decisively towards the path of peace” he added.

And after doing a review of the various revolutions in the Arab world, he assured “something is happening in our world, the way things worked will not be the same. Fist of the corruption and tyranny, is opening.”

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Himalayan region, killing at least 53 dead and many wounded.

The quake struck at 6:10 local time and was felt in five countries, including Bangladesh and Buddhist Bhutan.

At least 31 people died at the scene of the quake’s epicenter in the Indian state of Sikkim.

The earthquake also hit northeast India, Nepal and Tibet.

Rescuers climbed under a heavy rain, to reach an isolated Himalayan region to search for survivors.

The dense fog prevented helicopters fly over the affected area, which houses some of the highest mountains in the world, and officials said that “the toll could rise. Thousands of soldiers who collaborate in the work may not reach many areas until Tuesday because the mountain passes are blocked. “

One of the spokesmen of the disaster team of the UN in New Delhi said “The situation does not look good. I feel that the number of deaths and injuries will increase.”

“Even if the number of casualties is low, it is likely that there is an enormous need for humanitarian assistance to affected civilians whose homes have been destroyed and need food and shelter. The UN takes this very seriously.”

“It’s unfair that the middle class earners pay more than $ 50 million a year,” Obama said when announcing the changes in U.S. tax system.

“Nobody wants to punish anyone, how great this country is that everyone can do what he wants is the land of opportunity. What I say is that all we did well, myself included, we must pay what our favor ”Obama said.

He added: “We can not afford these special low rates for the rich. We can not afford when  we are facing with these big deficits”

Barack Obama announced in the Government House’s plan to decrease the fiscal deficit affecting the country. 3 billion dollars will be cut. Half of that amount will be financed by tax increases greater resources sectors and corporations.

In turn, the president said the government is already making cuts in areas like health state but “it will not be an excuse for not having the greatest coverage or that poor children have no care.’ll Change things, but not neglect. ”

Referring to proposals made these days by Republicans who said: “I will not support any plan that puts the burden of economic recovery in citizens who have less.’ll Veto any measure affecting the social benefits of Medicare [health plan free] but not the rich ”

Thus he insisted: “We will reform this government spending, but that does not solve our fiscal problems. In fact, these cuts will not do if we need it not. So I ask everyone to do their efforts.”

Obama said he was willing to deal with the Republican Party a comprehensive tax reform, arguing that it is not fair that millionaires enjoy tax freedom.

“Companies that have relationships with major lobbyists do not have to have exemptions, but those who invest in the United States and create jobs in the country,” adding: “The middle classes do not have to pay more taxes than millionaires is wrong, is not fair. A nurse pay more taxes than someone making $ 50 million in the year. ”

“This is not class warfare, it is math,” Obama said. The argument is that without raising taxes for those who have the resources to pay, the deficit could be trimmed.

Today, the United Nations Asambbly  approved with 114 votes for, 17 against and 15 abstentions, that the Libyan National Transitional Council occupies the empty site, as representative of the country to the body. For his part, Barack Obama will meet next Tuesday with Libyan rebel leader.

Thus the Assembly accompanied the decision of the Credentials Committee who had approved the recognition of the rebels. The African Union, together with Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas had requested the postponement of the decision.

In this sense, the ALBA member countries held their displeasure and asked to vote on the measure, as they say, the people of Libya should not be representing “” by a faction or a transitional authority illegitimately imposed by a foreign intervention “ . Motion supported by La UA, who proposed that the decision was passed later. The Assembly had to vote as being rejected by 107 countries and supported by 22.

This allow to vote the  CNT’s recognition. Voting against Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa with representatives of ALBA, like Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua. The contrary position was based on “self-determination of peoples themselves must recognize and Nola NATO. Revolutions can not be authentic if they are led by a group of nations with hegemonic interests that violate even the Cartade United Nations “, as the representative of Nicaragua advitió.

The representative of Egypt, continued to support the recognition of the CNT: “the different interpretations of military intervention in Libya to support the CNT should not go against the legitimacy of the Libyan people who still support the Council.” ”Now is the moment of truth, which must respect the will of the Libyan people,”

In this way the rebels who control so far almost all of Libya, have achieved much recognition from the international community.Even next Tuesday, in the framework of the UN General Assembly, President Obama, United States, will meet with the rebel leader. This happens when Western nations are committed to supporting the rebels in the reconstruction of the Libyan government after overthrowing Gaddafi.

A couple of 70 and 56 years old lost its daughter of just 15 months old after a lower court to consider that are too old to take care of her.

The couple had been treated in vitro in a foreign country following a long effort, as after marrying in 1990, tried it several times in Italy without success. Even they wanted to adopt, but the request was rejected.

They returned home happy with the girl but one day an unclear altercation sparked the nightmare. A group of neighbors complained that the man forgot the baby in the car for at least 45 minutes, but he says only let her sleep in the back seat until he took the food purchased in the market to his home.

After this incident the couple lost custody and the court found that the girl “might soon become orphaned, taking into account the age of the parents” who have “abused the enormous possibilities of assisted fertilization.” In addition, the judges said that “the girl could be forced to care for elderly parents with possible illnesses or perhaps handicapped.”

Gabriella is a librarian and Luigi Ambrosis retired and former mayor of a small town. Their grief is beyond compare. They said that can see the baby every 15 days and the damage they are doing to the girl is huge because she is deprived of being with her parents. They added that an injunction was presented to recover her. The case has sparked a huge controversy in Italy.

Doctors at the Le Bonheur Children Hospital in Memphis could separate Joshua and Jacob after a long operation.

Jacob’s heart problem forced doctors to separate the babies, who remains in intensive care and will undergo more surgeries, and Joshua is already out of the unit and expected to return home soon.

One of the surgeons said, “Joshua is fine and although Jacob has heart problems the team is confident that the treatment will be successful.”

This surgery is considered a medical miracle; Joshua and Jacob defied all odds and survived the separation after 13 hours of surgery.

A song that was sung by the young president of the ANC, Julius Malema, was convicted of inciting hatred against white people.

The lyrics of the song ‘Dubula Ibhunu’ speaks of killing white farmers called as “rapists” and “thieves.” The song that is still sung today was a banner of struggle during apartheid.

Judge Colin Lamont determined that the issue “is an incitement to hatred. The enemy became a friend, brother. Members of society should accept all people as brothers and this new vision should be encouraged.”

Malema’s followers claim that the track is part of the country’s history and does not refer to any particular person, but speaks of apartheid in general.

But Malema is receiving an internal disciplinary process for breaking the authority of President Jacob Zuma.

United States, September 11, 2011

Former Presidents of the United States, gathered yesterday to remember the tragic attacks of 11 September 2001, when passengers of planes were hijacked by terrorists and crashed into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

The ceremonies began with Bush and Clinton, who were seen crying with tears in their eyes.

Ten years ago, the international TV showed the images of the attack, like a horror movie, and even more when we saw many people throwing themselves through the windows, at 1350 feet to avoid dying burned or suffocated in the rubble with smoke and dust.

Even today, nobody knows the exact number of deaths, since the investigation continues, because they could be man among the bent irons and fire.

George Bush, praised during the ceremony the 40 passengers and crew who fought with the hijackers on flight, describing them as “one of the most courageous acts in the history of the United States”.

On Saturday, firefighters from the world attended a service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral to remember the 343 colleagues who lost their lives rescuing people from the twin towers.

This Sunday, Americans will gather at the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York and Washington DC, where the Pentagon is.

Barak Obama, U.S. President will attend the ceremonies at both sites, accompanied by President George W. Bush, and then he’ll speak from the Kennedy Center.

In his radio address on Saturday, Obama said “the country is stronger than a decade ago. As a nation of strong, we should keep going”.

“Thanks for the tireless efforts of our military and intelligence personnel, the security forces, there should be no doubt, America is stronger and Al Qaeda is poised to defeat”.

“They will continue trying to hit us again, but as we are showing this weekend, we are watching them”.

At 8:30 am (local time) of Sunday, the ceremonies began in New York with a minute of silence as 16 minutes later the first tower of World Trade Center was destroyed by a hijacked plane ten years ago.

The video is the story of two men who managed to survive by helping each other.

Israel Embassy in Cairo was attacked by a group of protesters who came to the Egyptian capital to reiterate the demands of the revolution that precipitated the downfall of former President Hosni Mubarak.

The demonstration that had begun without incident ended with violent clashes with police, leaving at least 80 injured, Ministry of Health sources said.

The embassy was attacked as part of a conflict that took place on the border with Israel and a recent fight in a football game. The protesters jumped the walls surrounding the embassy building and entered to remove the flags of the neighboring nation.

Also, a fire was detected in the Interior Ministry basement, where criminal records were stored, but apparently the flames were not produced by the protesters but they were originated from inside the building.

For its part, the Embassy of Israel has been the scene of several previous demonstrations after Israeli forces “accidentally killed five Egyptian officials during the persecution of Palestinian militants near the border last month” New York Times said.

In response to daily protests since the episode of the border, the Egyptian authorities had built a concrete wall surrounding the embassy, and many protesters marched this afternoon to the building to try to break down the wall.

Libya, September 3, 2011

In Libya, the National Transitional Council (NTC) seeks to develop public information of high quality, using media personnel and infrastructure that have been rendered useless after the arrival of the rebels to Tripoli. The idea is to bring together views on what is happening in the country, as rumors spread but are diverse, even within the leaders of the CNT.

“We resumed the works in television and we are publishing a newspaper called “17February” in Tripoli,” said Mahmoud Shamama, spokesman for the NTC, who also called on media workers formerly controlled by Gaddafi to participate in the project.

In Libya, all sorts of rumors and conflicting reports about what is happening are circulating in the last hours. That’s why some leaders of the NTC are now trying to to report more accurately and clearly the real situation in Tripoli.

The new authorities are operating the channel called “Free Libya”, created with the help of Al Jazeera, Qatar, which is being broadcasted from Doha.

Moreover, Gaddafi is urging people to “resist” by means of a television channel called “Arrai”.

During the exercise of power, Gaddafi had banned the publication of newspapers and suspended his son Saif Al Islam, who wanted to reform the system but not to challenge the mandate of his father, although Gaddafi never accept a decline of his power.

Muammar Gaddafi would be seeking asylum in Algeria, from the border town of Ghadames, where he is trying to negotiate with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, but he still did not answer.

Gaddafi would be in company with the rest of his family and from there would have tried to negotiate his entry into Algerian territory.

A spokesman for the Algerian President apologized Gaddafi stating that “President Bouteflika is absent, too busy at the events in recent days in Algeria (double attack on Cherchell military outpost).”

It is not the first time that Gaddafi or any of his emissaries tried to contact Bouteflika to address this issue, but the Algerian position is clear and neutral. ‘We refuse to interfere in the internal affairs of Libya’.
