Unbelievable video: Images of the Earth in just 60 seconds

The International Space Station (ISS) managed to collect thousands of images of Planet Earth in just 60 seconds.

Science professor James Drake spliced images of the ISS, which travels about 220 miles above Earth’s surface, to achieve what became a sensation on the web.

Drake used the images from the Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth, so everyone can enjoy the breathtaking view of North and South.

The film was uploaded on September 15 and attracted around 50,000 views on YouTube, begins in the Pacific Ocean and moves over North America and South America before going into the light of day near Antarctica.

Some cities and places of interest are: Vancouver Island, Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, some urban areas in Texas, New Mexico, Mexico City, the Gulf of Mexico and the Peninsula Yucatan.

You can also see the Pacific Ocean and countries such as Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and the Amazon.

The images include the Earth’s ionosphere (thin yellow line) and stars of our galaxy.

Thousands of Israelis had the opportunity to participate in a photo shoot of the artist Spencer Tunick on the Dead Sea, where they appeared naked.

The group was formed by people between 18 to 77 years old and were specially selected by the artist. The location was kept secret to stop the religious officials to try to stop the shoot.

Tunick instructed the Israelis to enter the salt water, while he photographed them floating in the Dead Sea.

But curious onlookers, to uncover the secret place, begin to disrupt the shoot, and helicopters began to fly over the nude swimmers.

The great fear was that religious authorities may try to stop with protests the session, but the artist had no interruptions, just by the citizens who were spying.

Tunick is an American Jew who organized other naked shoots before, in Australia, USA, Brazil, France, England, Spain, Switzerland, Holland and Austria, and said that he “believes that Israel is the only country in the Middle East with religious freedom”.

The artist insisted that “the shooting of the Dead Sea is not a challenge to the religious sensitivities or conflicts with the Middle East”.

Tunick maintains that “his work is not about exhibitionism or eroticism, but it highlights the vulnerability of life in a city landscape in the rough”.

Although at times the authorities have been at odds, especially in the United States, where he was arrested seven times.

Through the Kepler mission, NASA scientists made the first discovery of a planet orbiting two suns at the same time, like Tatooine from the Star Wars saga.

In the video presentation, experts explain that “the Kepler mission has made an important discovery. The first planet orbiting two suns”.

“At 200 light years away [from Earth], planet Kepler 16-b orbits two suns,” they add.

The small star orbits the larger one (both smaller than our sun), and when her sister gets covered, the brightness in the planet is dimmed to what would be the power of the late evening on Earth.

Kepler 16-B is a gaseous planet of the size of Saturn and nearly a billion years younger than our solar system. Every 239 days, it makes a turn around the greatest. It iscovered by smaller one every 49 days.

While the globe could not sustain life due to its composition, NASA experts do not dismiss being able to find rock planets orbiting around such systems, giving support to one of the dreams of science fiction.

The incident took place in Fundacion town in Magdalena state with a bull that weighs 600 kilograms.

The bullfight in this land includes the audience who interact with the animals in the ring, as if they were bullfighters.

Before the constant attacks over one bull, the innocent animal reached one man and dragged him and thrown him in to the air several times. He died hours later due to his terrible injuries.

There are deep debates about this kind of practices as there is no sense in torture an innocent animal to entertain people who even come to risk their lives as in this case.

NASA scientists believe they found saltwater in Mars according some photographs taken from the Newton crater near to the Ecuador of the red planet.

The images from the program “Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter” (MRO) show some lines in the surface and according to experts they would be saltwater flows that appear in spring and summer and disappear in the winter of the neighbor planet.

They said it is not fresh water because it would be frozen due to the low temperatures of the zone. At the contrary, the saltwater stayed liquid in these conditions.

However, the scientists confessed that these evidences are not enough to be a hundred per cent sure that these lines are saltwater flows. Nevertheless they are very optimistic.

Children starving to death were photographed at a refugee camp in Horn of Africa.

Mihag Gedi Farah, one of the babies of these terrible images, weighs only 7 pounds as a newborn.

Unfortunately Mihag is just one case of 800,000 who can die in any moment due to the worst drought that is hitting Somalia.

UN said, “More than 11 millions of people in east Africa are affected by the drought, with 3.7 millions in Somalia, who are the most hit by the civil war”.

The big drought in Somalia became in a devastating famine as the government and the human organizations can help in zones controlled by Al Qaeda as the terrorist killed the humanitarian workers.

Lady Gaga talked about Amy Winehouse and asked to her fans “Do not kill the superstar, is a lesson to the whole world. Take care of her. Take care of her soul”.

Lady Gaga added, “I never met a British icon who makes me shake when she sang with her black voice. When she was first coming out I remember feel I wasn’t alone because she was different as well”.

Amy Winehouse’s first autopsy could not determine the cause of her death

The results of the first autopsy performed on the American singer Amy Winehouse, who died on Saturday 23 of July, has not yet determined the cause of her death. A police spokesman said that “the evidence does not give conclusive data to establish a formal cause of her death”.

48 hours after her death, Winehouse’s body was subjected to forensic analysis of the morgue of St Pancras. The results are in the hands of the Court of St Pancras Corner.

British media reported that “she died alone in her bed” and that was “alone with the man who had hired for security since a couple of years to take care of her”.

She reportedly told to her bodyguard that she wanted a nap, but when the man entered the room he realized that she was not breathing and so he called the emergency services.

With 27 years old and like many other musicians (Cobain, Morrison, Joplin, Hendrix), Amy Winehouse died at his home on Saturday July 23, 2011. Despite her history with drugs comes from a long time ago, the cause of her death is uncertain and so the forensic scientists asked the media to avoid any speculation. Amy’s family has asked the respect for their privacy and stated that “Amy’s death left a huge hole in the lives of us all”. Meanwhile, fans leave flowers in front of her house.

There appeared on the Internet material on YouTube that is believed to correspond to the alleged attacker in Norway, of the bombing that killed 92 people. In the twelve-minute video he claims violently against Islam, Marxism and multiculturalism. Anders Breivik Behring also appears carrying a rifle.

Oslo police have not yet assessed by determining the material, but the video was posted online on the same day that followed the attacks. The press says it is from the author responsible, at least ideologically, of what happened.

Finally he called to organize a fight against Marxism and Islam. And he concludes saying “World War II is a picnic next to the looming carnage”.

The attacks in Oslo, which caused at least 92 dead, had targeted two symbols on the left: the headquarters of the governing center-left Norwegian and a youth camp of the Labour Party.

Flamingo delays flights at Manchester Airport

A flamingo decided to rest for five hours at one runway of the Manchester international airport.

Despite the effort of the airport staff to capture the bird, it evaded them all the time. Consequently they were forced to ask for help to the local police.

Meanwhile, workers of the air traffic control diverted flights to other runways of the airport.

The flamingo called Ringo was seeing Sunday night trough the cameras with night shot. Then it disappeared but at 8 o’clock was in other runway, which was closed for security reason. After five hours the flamingo flew away and plains could land again.
