The “Academy” started winning with a goal by Gio Moreno until the second half when the referee called a penalty kick and  the goalkeeper Union, Bologna, converts it. Thus Racing left two points in the Stade April 15 and is four points behind Boca, single pointer.

Simeone’s team were formed with the partial victory, he threw for the own goal and this maneuver caused a setback as many championship games. In addition “the Cholo” take  out  the Colombian and the team began to lose possession, causing a massive delay because of his players, who were overwhelmed by the advanced Tatengue.

Union began to move and win in the field. The effort was crowned with the penalty caused by Saja. That tied him to an academy that cost him recover from the unexpected draw despite having an extra player after the expulsion of Barrales and overload of forwards, clearly showed little offensive.

In four games became just one goal in two was zero and could hardly thrashing on the second date Godoy Cruz 3-0. Despite continuing undefeated, still grieving for his lack of definition

Boca Juniors beat Lanus 2 to 1 with goals from Lucas and Walter Erviti Viatri head. The place had been achieved after the goal transient tie against Juan Manuel Insaurralde. Boca thus achieved 17 points and became only Apertura pointer keeping the unbeaten.

It was a game with little control by both teams and few risk situations in the arches. Boca Riquelme not looked and was not at his best. Cvitanich despite suffering an injury on the field continued to struggle with life and soul of each ball.

Meanwhile Lanús, also felt the low performance of their best figures: Mario Regueiro and Diego Valeri. A draw would have been the most fair, but a draw after a cross against Marchesín Augustine area, and the appearance of a former Banfield with the header that would give the victory to Boca.

Thus, with the victory (the third followed), Boca exclusively leads the tournament with 17 points and leads by one at Atletico Rafaela, who last night beat San Lorenzo road. Student’s next opponent will be on Thursday from 21.15, in “La Bombonera”.

Serbia, September 17, 2011

Today, the couple formed by Troicki and Zimonjic for Serbia defeated the Argentines Chela and Monaco for 7-6, 6-4, 6-2. In this way, they managed to stretch the series. The national pair had too many inaccuracies and did not exploit the opportunities. The match of Del Potro with Djokovic will be crucial for the series.

The Serbian duo came with the pressure of winning. The nerves could be seen in the court. Moreover Chela and Monaco adapted their game to the one exposed by the Serbs, but did not reach them because of their inaccuracies. The first set was won by the Serbs 7-6, with a difference of 4 in the tie break.

Argentina was 4-1 up in the second set but dropped their level again and the Serbs rallied the result. In this way Argentina stagnated in 4 games won and foreigners achieved the victory 6-4.

In the third set, Argentina had to win to have any chance to go to fourth and fifth set, but none of that happened. It was easy for the Serbs, 6-2 to put the series 2-1 in favor of the Latin American team. Tomorrow, Del Potro will face Djokovic and Nalbandian will have to define the series against Tipsarevic.

Godoy Cruz started winning on a goal by Nicolas Sanchez, however the site will drowned when Julio Furch partial victory tied him and then turned against Ceballos Lucas. However, the visiting team achieved the final 2-2 with a goal of Leando Caruso. Olympus continues after the tie in promotion and can not come to San LoRez. For his part, “Tomba” fell three points from the top.

Two sides of a coin. That was the game. The first time flat and the second in which vibrated to the rhythm of the field goals. Both teams had chances to win. Although it showed in the match, a draw was fair, the result did not favor either of the two teams.

While the first time had no major surprises, the visitor’s goal in the 44th minute broke the monotony. In the local complento changed the attitude, took center stage in the field of play and so came to equality. The advantage came after 20 minutes when Luke Ceballos could not prevent the rebound from the goalkeeper and turned into his own net.

However, among the goalkeeper, a defender on the line and crossbar, Bahia Blanca could not convert on 29 minutes and ended up paying dearly because a minute later came the 2 by 2, because Leandro Caruso (also out of play) received in the defined area and an excellent way to Laureano Tombolini. The visit could have taken it, but poorly defined Caruso himself a volley inside the area.

In an area much more quickly than expected Argentine players, “Delpo” knew accommodate rapidly and stood firm entry.

While the first set started evenly, quickly “Delpo” managed to get ahead quickly and ended with a tie break 6-5. With a 7-5 triple achieved in September that guaranteed him the first set.

The pressure exerted del Potro, standing firm and winning conclusively the second and third sets, he was so psychologically, with great pressure from local and physical.Tipsarevic called doctor and was bandaged left ankle.

“You get tired, you have to explode. You can not let these things. You assault charge. Does all my lawyer, I banque things that gave no importance. But this is serious and will go to court. Nothing ever happened that he says (Maradona), “the” Chechen “.

In yesterday, Maradona had caused controversy, after saying he had “made” between Batista, Jose Luis Brown and Mc Allister, current representative players.

Argentina, September 11, 2011

The national basketball team achieved tonight another victory defeating with just a pair Puerto Rico, 81-79, and qualified for the Olympic Games of London 2012.

The tight victory in the second semifinal of the tournament in Mar del Plata allowed the team to met Julio Lamas’s objective: go to the Olympics next year to try to rejuvenate those laurels harvested in Athens in 2004 (gold medal) and Beijing 2008 (bronze).

The numbers of the meeting in every quarter held at the Polideportivo Islas Malvinas, with 8 000 spectators were: Argentina 29-24, 40-44, 66-60 and 81-79.

Luis Scola, was the local quintet’s top scorer with 27 points. However, Emanuel Ginobili was the key in the third quarter (provided four three-pointers in that stretch) and finished the game with 23 points.

Argentina, which did not show its best tonight, will face Brazil, also qualified for the Games defeating the Dominican Republic, by 83 to 76.

In the start, the Argentine team showed a good efficacy in court shots (13 of 17) with Scola always taking the initiative.

Puerto Rico, meanwhile, began to manage the game: “overplayed” Ginobili, covered him good and appealed to the perimeter attempts to score points.

But the Puerto Ricans had an unexpected extra supplement: took many rebounds in the basket rival (Renaldo Balkman only caught 5 balls on the boards) and they began to shorten the difference and even finished the second quarter winning 44-40.

In the beginning of the third period, two doubles of Daniel Santiago for Puerto Rico allowed them to take advantage of 8 points (48-40). The situation was complicated.

However, the heart of Federico Kammerichs and a triple left-hander done by Ginobili allowed Lamas’s team to tie it 48-48.

Then the meeting became a sort of “triples competition”. “Manu” Ginobili (4) and Prigioni (2) provided baskets from beyond the 6.25 meters. On the other hand Barea (19 goals) and Holland (9) made it possible for Puerto Ricans to stay in the game.

The left-hander Ginobili was unstoppable (he made sixth consecutive triples) and the difference was of 10 (74-64) when only 7m. 30s remained. In the mid of the last quarter Argentina was 9 ahead (77-68).

However, the visitors came to prevail in attack with rebounds and dangerously narrowed the difference (77-75), when there only remained 4m.17s.

The meeting continued even and with 1m. 56s. remaining, A double scored by James paired the board (79-79).

So, two points, one of Prigioni and the other from Ginobili, put Argentina ahead, but the closure was going to be held by Puerto Rico, in the absence of 4 seconds. But Barea shot uncomfortable and the ball bounced off the basket. Argentina celebrated the classification to 2012 Olympic Games in England.

The “Tomba” started losing the game, but taking advantage of the horrors in defending All Boys, not only turned him around but  made him 6 goals. Rubén Ramírez (scorer) scored twice, while other goals came from Diego Villar, Leandro Caruso, Emmanuel Jorge Curbelo and Perea, against. In a game full of surprises, All Boys began to dominate the game and won fairly. His defensive mistakes cost him his life. Godoy Cruz head up and improving the game at the behest of his rival demolished it.

Until the temporary tie, the match was level. The break occurred at the end of the first stage and the beginning of the second with a goal against Perea player who could not prevent the rebound of a spillover from the right. Then at the start of the supplement,Ruben Ramirez appeared in 30 seconds to place 3 to 1 that at that point began to be definitive.

The visitor’s domain and thus ended up being overwhelming differences expanded rapidly, thanks to that Mendoza had fun at ease and pleasure in the errors of the local defense.

Santa Fe, September 9, 2011

Colon, a football team form Santa Fe province, is in the midst of a controversy over a statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which even forced the leader Jose Luis De Santis to resign.

De Santis said the squad players demanded to remove the Virgin from the pit west of the court after losing against Union 2-0.

The leader strongly opposed to this idea because it seemed to him absolutely crazy to say that the virgin brings “bad luck”. Consequently it was decided at a meeting of leaders that the sculpture would not be removed. It was donated by former Uruguayan coach Jose Fossati.

However, soon after the team captain “El Chino” Garcé took away the statue with a crane, causing the reaction and resignation of some leaders, including De Santis.

The Church also spoke about it through the priest at the Basilica of Guadalupe, Osvaldo Gloverdans, who urged the club to place the virgin again in the match against San Lorenzo, or otherwise he will request formal explanations.

Finally, Colon president German Lerche said this afternoon that the sculpture was removed for restoration and then they will decide where to locate it.

Antonio “El Turco” Mohamed resigned after the Independiente defeat against Boca for 1-0 and today gave a press conference where he revealed that his departure was forced by the hooligans.

“The decision I took yesterday was for the hooligans. If they had not gone to the match, I had continued being the coach. It was a very clear message. I think what is very clear what happened yesterday, there are no such doubts. It was not spontaneous,” said the coach from Villa Dominico.

Yesterday hooligans entered to changing rooms and played the funeral march. They demanded his resign.

He added: “When a club is not well handled things end this way” and asked to “please the people in the club to protect the players and kids.”

“They were very nice eleven months. But sadly this is a job that ended today. The team is well, three points to get a pass to Libertadores Cup and if it wins on Wednesday against San Martín de San Juan will get chances into the local tournament. There is no football crisis,” he confessed.

Juan Martin Del Potro was defeated in four sets by the French Simon, and lost the possibility of being into the sixteen best in the U.S. Open. Chela lost against Young and Nalbandian against Nadal. The only Argentine left is Monaco.

Del Potro suffered defeat in the third round and said goodbye to the tournament which had seen him champion in 2009. Less solid than on that occasion, was forced off the tournament against a strong performance of Simon.

Committing 72 unforced errors over the four hours of the match, Del Potro was unable to assert himself in the field.

The outcome of the meeting was a 6-4 to Del Potro in the first set, then fought a second set, which ended 7-5 in favor of French, a third set easy for Simon who won it 6-2 and a complicated final one but ended 7-6, leaving the Argentine out of the competition.

Moreover, Nalbandian fell 7-6, 6-1, 7-5 against the world number one Rafael Nadal. The match lasted two hours and was not a complicated match for the historic rival of Roger Federer.

Juan Ignacio Chela, meanwhile, lost 7-5, 6-4, 6-3 against the American Donald Young.
