Pope Francisco described slave traffick “a sore on the body of humanity”
At an international conference in the Vatican, Pope Francis said that “trafficking of human beings is a sore on the body of humanity.” The same was done to combat the phenomenon.
He added “it is a crime against humanity.” In Rome the Church representatives and police chiefs from several countries met in order to initiate an alliance to combat trafficking in human beings.
“The fact that we are here to unite our efforts, it means we want strategies and skills accompanied and reinforced by the evangelical compassion, by the proximity with men and women who are victims of this crime,” he said.
On the other hand, the Pope noted that: “They are gathered here police authorities, who have to fight this phenomenon with the instruments and the rigor of the law”.
