Capitanich denied impact of subsidies in wage negotiations

In a press conference, the cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich denied that cuts in subsidies have an impact on the joint negotiations. So he said “those arguments do not correspond to reality.”

Yesterday, after the official announcement done by Kicillof and De Vido, unions stated that the rise in rates of water and gas will directly impact on wage negotiations.

The official said: “There is no possible link between subsidy reduction and negotiation of wages” and added that it is “absolutely insignificant” the impact in wages.

On the other hand, he defended the reduction in subsidies because it has “a strong correlation in their investment process.”

Finally, after being asked if would reduce subsidies to the electricity supply, the former governor of Chaco emphasized: “Let’s try to avoid anxiety, every decision will be published shortly.”
