Pope Francisco asked to “accompany” marriages that failed
The Pope spoke today about divorce and asked to “accompany” and “not condemn” marriages that failed. The issue will be addressed in the forthcoming special synod convened for October.
In his daily morning Mass in the chapel of Santa Marta residence, Pope Francis said “when love fails, because often fails, we feel the pain of failure, but we must accompany people who had this failure in their pride” and asked to “not condemn” but “walk with them”.
Francisco analyzed the issue in meetings with cardinals and bishops, in preparation for the extraordinary synod of October, dedicated to the challenges facing the family today.
