Ricardo Echegaray charged for tax secrecy violation
Argentina, February 17, 2014
Today, the federal prosecutor Jorge Di Lello charged Ricardo Echegaray, head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP), for violation of tax secrecy and alleged illicit enrichment.
The complaint for violation of tax secrecy was presented by the national deputy for the radicalism Manuel Garrido, after Echegaray provided details of the tax position of opposition leaders in one of his press conferences.
Note that Echegaray was summoned for questioning in the Ciccone case, which also involves the Vice President Amado Boudou, where he is investigated for “negotiations incompatible with the public service.”
