The Celac summit supported the Argentine claim over the Falkland Islands

Raul Castro opened the II Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, held in Havana. Speaking with presidents and representatives from all countries across the region, the Cuban president called to “lift Cuba from the list of states that boost terrorism.” Cristina Kirchner arrived last Friday and had lunch on Sunday with Fidel.
Raul Castro asked for a minute of silence in memory of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, and described him as “a fighter for independence, cooperation, solidarity and Latin American and Caribbean integration.”
In his speech, the Cuban president also demanded a declaration to the Caribbean region as a “zone of peace” and called to resolve any dispute through “peaceful negotiations”,
Also expressed his support for Argentina’s claim over the Falkland Islands, and called the United Kingdom “to accept dialogue and negotiation.”
