Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer and advanced to the final of the Australian Open

In a clash of titans, Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 and 6-3 to advance to the Australia Open final. On Sunday, the Spanish will face Federer’s compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka. The victory over the Swiss was the twenty-third in thirty three games against the best ever.

The Spanish, 27, goes in search of his fourteenth Grand Slam title, already having 22 tournament’s finals.

Rafa is a title to match the record of Pete Sampras in Grand Slams if he defeats the Swiss Wawrinka on Sunday. Nadal has a record of 13-0 against him.
