Outages: Macri asked Cristina “to implement a change of time zone”
Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri today asked the national government to dictate a change in the time zone to the east of the country, as a way to mitigate outages and improve energy management.
“President (Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner) should use the law 26,350 to implement a change of time zone to optimize behavior. No need to be for the whole country to the west because it may be more a problem than a solution, but it can be positive for the East, the axis Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Cordoba,” Macri said.
The Buenos Aires mayor also stated that if there will be some power outages the government must announce them a few hours before.
During a press conference, Macri confirmed that there are “a hundred hotspots” to “more than 16 neighborhoods” problem of power outages.
