Justice requested to investigate those who denounced the bribes in the Senate
Argentina, December 24, 2013
After the acquittal by the bribes in the Senate, where former President Fernando de la Rua was one of the accused, Justice asked to investigate those who made the request, like Mario Pontaquarto, Judge Daniel Rafecas (photo) legislator Aníbal Ibarra and former cabinet chief Alberto Fernandez.
The judges Miguel Pons, Guillermo Gordo and Fernando Ramirez ruled that the facts alleged did not exist and filed a complaint to the Judicial Council against Rafecas to evaluate the performance of the federal judge, who was in charge of the investigation of the case.
Also did not rule out the possibility that the case has been politically armed, as there were some meetings between Pontaquarto and Fernandez before publishing the report, in 2003.
It should be noted that the judge Rafecas, who collected all the evidence of the cause, is under the view of the judges, who questioned how he collected the evidence with which they wanted to prove bribery, alleging a “substantial violation of the rules of the process.”
