Sileoni made a strong criticism after the results of Pisa tests
Argentina, December 8, 2013
After minimizing the report of the PISA tests, Education Minister Alberto Sileoni made a strong criticism, arguing that “he is the primarily responsible” for the poor performance of students.
So he said “we did not have good results. Testing had many more students and had many percentage of responses, which was important. And expect other results, especially have evolved in math and have persisted in this climb that we were in language.”
It should be noted that Argentina was ranked 59 of 65 countries audited, falling one place with regard to the evaluation of 2009 and remaining below neighboring countries like Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, which also fell.
Despite the results, he was optimistic about the education policy of the Government: “We have built a stronger and more inclusive education system. We mean that this education system is going to create solutions.”
