Argentina, October 12, 2013
After the serious accident his brother suffered yesterday, San Juan Governor José Luis Gioia remains in serious condition. The helicopter in which he was traveling crashed in the town of Valle Fertil, while doing campaigning for the elections. His brother, Cesar Gioia, said that “he remains in the hands of God”.
The former senator said his brother “have problems with the lungs and spleen, that it had to be removed. Has three broken ribs and collarbone too. The liver is a little concerned.”
However, he was optimistic “everything is recoverable. We know that this is going to be slow. He’s delicate, but we are optimistic,” he said.
Roberto Correa, one of the doctors in charge said that for the moment “Gioja remains stable with ventilator” and explained that lung development is the greatest concern to physicians.
