Paula Speziale, mother of Camilla, Argentine that is being detained by Russian authorities for participating in a protest by Greenpeace in the Arctic, said she is “proud of her daughter’s actions” and added “we know the risks involved.”
“We know nothing, just that the boat is being moved,” said Paula, referring to the Sunrsise Arctic vessel, with which Greenpeace held a protest in the Arctic against the installation of oil companies in the area.
“I hope in these days she’ll send a message to let me know how she is.” According to the mother, in the last communication she had, Camila send a message in which she said he was “alive and well” after the Russian authorities boarded the Greenpeace ship.
However, Paula said she is quiet thanks to the containment of the NGO and the Foreign Ministry, which remains in constant contact with her and her husband. “We know the risks involved in a Greenpeace action, but she has all our support because she makes us proud,” she said.
