Cordoba: Finally, the outbreak of fire could be controlled
Argentina, September 15, 2013
Finally, after several days of work under weather conditions that worsened the situation, Córdoba firefighters managed to control the last outbreak of fire in the mountains of the province.
The fire was brought under control last night and now firefighters are working for its total extinction, informed the director of the Provincial Plan for Fire Management, Marcelo Zornada, and Civil Defense Minister of Cordoba, Diego Concha.
It should be noted that wildfires destroyed more than 40,000 hectares. By Friday, three centers remained active in the mountains, near La Calera, Pinar de los Ríos and Los Plates. Although the situation is now under control, it’s being held a strict preventive guard against possible revivals in areas affected by fire.
