Unionist Oscar Lescano dies
One of the most recognized unionist of the Los Gordos (“The Fat” of the CGT union), legendary head of Light and Power, Adrian Oscar Lescano, died this morning at age 80 at his home in Buenos Aires district of San Isidro.
Lescano was born in Lomas de Zamora on October 15, 1932, was employed by the electricity companies Segba and Italo; since 1964, was part of the union of Light and Power, which became second to Oscar Smith, a historic guild leader disappeared during the dictatorship.
Lescano headed the union since 1984, shortly after the arrival of President Raul Alfonsin.
Currently he integrated ‘the Fat’ sector, and until now remained close relationship with the Federal Planning Minister Julio De Vido.
