The Government insists City subway with increasing
Buenos Aires City, March 20, 2013
Today users are traveling on the subways with the rate of $ 2.50 after a court order to suspend the planned increase.
Deputy head of Government of Buenos Aires María Eugenia Vidal told Radio La Re, “There is a kind of abuse of these resources. The administration of Mauricio Macri analyzed all possible alternatives before taking the rate to 3.50 pesos.
“The subway fare would be $ 6.10 without including the investment in necessary works.”
“The city government will respect the court ruling that froze the increase and will be presented to the judge today in Administrative and Tax Buenos Aires, Pablo Mantaras, information justifying the increase.”
“It goes to show that the increase is more than justified. Besides maintaining tariffs benefits for pensioners, students and teachers.”
