Buenos Aires mayor Mauricio Macri greeted the Pope with his wife Juliana Awada after the assumption of his pontificate.

Macri, very excited, in an interview with Radio 10 reported the dialogue he had with the Pope when he waved at the Basilica of St. Peter:

“I was lucky and emotion enough to greet him.” “He told me ‘Why you did not bring Antonia(Macri daughter)?’. He remembers her because I told him when he returned from Rome I will take Antonia with him.”

“The pope told me his joy at the celebrations at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires for his inauguration.”

“I said I hope this would help to Argentina to join and told me he was very happy with everything that happened in Buenos Aires right now.”
