The ex bishop of Buenos Aires Jorge Bergoglio greeted those attending the vigil with a “Thank you for the prayers” and “Pray for me,” amid the cheers of the audience.
Through a telephone call from the Vatican, released by the speakers for all present, said: “Thanks for the prayers ..” adding “let us beware of one another, care for life, nature, children and old.”
Within hours of becoming Pope, he said: “Do not forget that this bishop is far and loves you.” “Pray for me”, “God forgives all,” “God is good” and blessed them all.
Thousands of faithful, mostly young, gathered near 22:15 front of the Cathedral of Buenos Aires with the presentation of the rock band “The Father Caesar and Sinners” and shortly after 1:00 was songwriter Axel.
