Approximately 4.7 million students, including all levels (preschool, primary and secondary) are affected without classes after the agreements between the government of the province of Buenos Aires and the unions were not reached.
The unions that make up the Guild Front (ELF, Suteba, AMET, UDA and Sadop) rejected the proposal for an increase of 22.6% set by decree and decided to go on strike for 48 hours.
In addition, the protest will include a caravan of “white coats” that will culminate on Wednesday in front of the provincial governor.
Buenos Aires Teachers said they are willing to end the strike if the government makes a new offer that exceeds those given.
Last Friday Governor Daniel Scioli called the “reflection” of teachers to continue dialogue with students in the classroom.
