The election of the new Pope begins Tuesday

The Vatican press office announced, “The cardinals voted Friday afternoon to the start date of Conclave on the Eighth General Congregation and indicated that on Tuesday March 12 morning will be held at St. Peter’s St. Mass “Pro choosing Roman Pontiff.” In the afternoon of the same day bishops will enter into the conclave. “

“The College of Cardinals has decided in the eighth General Congregation that has taken place this Friday evening, from 17 at 19 pm local, the conclave to elect the new pontiff will open on Tuesday, March 12, 2013″ said the statement which added that “in the morning it will be held in St. Peter’s Basilica Holy Mass Pro choosing Roman Pontiff and afternoon of the same day bishops will enter into the conclave.”
