The wake of Chavez is extended another week and his body will be embalmed

Venezuela interim president Nicolás Maduro announced that Hugo Chavez’s farewell will last at least another week and his body will be embalmed.

“I want to tell the people and the world that it has decided to prepare the body of the president commander to embalming, to be open forever for the people to have it there,” said Maduro.

He added: “The commander Chavez will be in a position to be seen at least seven days, so the whole nation can see it without any limitations”.

Maduro also said that the body will be transferred to Bolivarian Revolution Museum, where it will be “the first historical resting place.”

And he said: “It will be his embalmed body to be present and always with the people.”
