Buenos Aires teachers unions should wait until Monday to return to meet with provincial authorities and give continuity to the joint sector, after the government of Daniel Scioli postpone the meeting scheduled for Thursday.

The salary discussion was postponed for “operational reasons”, officials argued, after Scioli anticipate his intention to offer salaries increased of 22 percent and Teachers Guild Front announced it will reject the proposal.

Educators, who on Wednesday moved into the province to demand wage increases of 30% and also participated in a march with national associations in the Federal Capital, this week made another strike for 48 hours on Monday and Tuesday, and left clear that they are willing to go ahead with its fight plan.

Spokesmen of Teachers’ Federation (FEB) confirmed that unions received a formal invitation to take part in the key meeting scheduled for tomorrow, but then the provincial government reported the postponement of the meeting.
