Venezuela and Latin America farewell to Hugo Chavez

Venezuela cries and says goodbye to its leader with streets full of people who crowd on the coffin as it heads to the Military Academy, where the funeral will take place.

The remains of the president departed from the Military Hospital, where a priest blessed them in a small ceremony. His mother Elena Frias disconsolate cried beside the coffin covering her face with a handkerchief, while those present sang the national anthem.

On the streets red color shined, with thousands of followers accompanying the convoy, escorted by Vice PresidentNicolas Maduro and Bolivia President Evo Morales.

The trip would take about an hour and a half until its final destination, the Military Academy, where the chapel will be held until Friday.
