Japan: gold replica Messi’s left foot is for sale

A solid gold replica of the left foot of Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, clearly showing veins and skin irregularities between the toes, goes on sale in Japan.
This statue of 25 kilos, which costs $ 5.25 million, was created by Ginza Tanaka from a mold of the foot that this athlete used to score goals to celebrate the fourth Messi Ballon, an award given to best player in the world.
The company said that golden foot will be put on sale on Thursday, along with several miniature versions and a solid gold plate the footprint of FC Barcelona striker.
A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go to help victims of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan two years ago, through the Leo Messi Foundation, a charity run by the family of Messi.
