Real Madrid did it again. The white team defeated Barcelona 2-1, deepening the first crack in the set of Tito Vilanova in a while, after very successful seasons.

Benzema opened the scoring early in the match, while Lionel Messi won the tie in the 17th minute of the first half.

In the second stage, a remarkable headed goal from Sergio Ramos put the final result, when there were barely 10 minutes to go.

Mourinho changes were essential to victory. In the second half, Cristiano entered for Khedira and Benzema for Kaka; this decision renewed the oxygen of the meringues.

Even the Portuguese could have scored the third goal from a free kick, but the ball hit the bat top left corner while goalkeeper Victor Valdes looked pensive.

On Tuesday, Real Madrid had eliminated the Catalans of the Copa del Rey with a convincing 3-1.

Lionel Messi on the other hand, managed to equal the record of Alfredo Di Stéfano, screaming 18 goals against the meringues. (See article)
