Montenegro answered to Garre: “Insecurity is a reality”

Argentina, February 22, 2013

Buenos Aires Security Minister Guillermo Montenegro, said that “insecurity is a reality” and argued with the National Security Minister, Nilda Garre, who insisted that the spread of “bloody events” contribute to putting the crimes against people as the main concern of the population.

Montenegro told to Radio La Red: “Insecurity is a reality; otherwise we would not be talking about this. The only way to combat it is to work for a long time with a clear policy. “

He also said: “In recent years has clearly increased the level of violence of the crimes”.

The diagnosis is not clear, so we cannot solve the problem. If we make a diagnosis, it would be very easy to combat insecurity.”

“The insecurity is the main complaint people have when you go to a neighborhood to talk to people in the capital city or in the provinces.”

Garre had declared that “the emphasis on the dissemination of bloody deeds by the media contribute to placing insecurity as the main concern of the population.”
