Mauricio Macri proposed to build a monument to remember the victims of the tragedy of Once

The head of Government of Buenos Aires, Mauricio Macri, surrounded by 15 relatives of victims of the Once tragedy, which occurred on February 22, 2012, announced on Monday that he’ll ‘send to the Legislature a project to erect a monument near the Plaza Miserere in memory of the victims of the tragedy, which killed 51 people ‘.
Macri said: “The monument is a reminder that things like this cannot happen again and that we must work to prevent it.”
“With this project we want to provide a space to remember the victims and their families.”
He announced it a few days before the ‘first anniversary of the tragedy that killed 51 people and left 700 injured, many of whom still suffer the consequences’.
