Family calls for organ donation awareness
Argentina, February 20, 2013
The seminar is led by parents of Victoria De Mare, the baby of two years who remains awaiting a bowel transplant.
Of the call, will also participate the holder of Solidarity Network, Juan Carr.
“Vicky is the little engine of all of us, she’s really struggling to live, so we are asking the family to search for solidarity hearts and know that if we have to we are able to give life” said Gustavo, the father of the child.
Vicky was born with only 6 months pregnant and suffering from ultrashort bowel syndrome, a disease that developed from a malformation (gastroschisis), and can only receive intravenous feedings, has thrombosed almost all major veins through which receives food and 12 hours per day she should remain connected to a machine.
The girl is in the list of the Incucai national emergency, and parents on several occasions expressed the need for the community to donate organs.
Of the call will also participate holder Solidarity Network, Juan Carr, who told the news channel TN that he will also present doctors, nurses, transplant recipients and members of Incucai.
The meeting will take place at 6:00 pm in the Obelisk, Carr said, noting that last year were made in Argentina over 1,400 transplants.
