Vice President Amado Boudou was seen next to the governors of Salta, Juan Manuel Urtubey and Formosa, Gildo Insfran, among other national and provincial authorities for the bicentenary of the Battle of Salta, which celebration will be held in this city.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of flags on the Plaza Belgrano, the civic-military parade at the memorial on February 20, in the capital city and the Te Deum at the Cathedral Basilica celebrated by the Archbishop of Salta, Monsignor Mario Cargnello.

Boudou attended the ceremony on behalf of President Cristina Kirchner, who is on leave for the death of her mother in law, mother of the late former President Nestor Kirchner.

The Battle of Salta is a historical fight that halted the advance of the royalist troops and strengthened the position of local government, three years before the final declaration of Independence.
