Nalbandian lost in San Pablo against Rafael Nadal

Brazil, February 17, 2013

At the ATP 250 of San Pablo, David Nalbandian was defeated by the Spanish Rafael Nadal, who won the first tournament after being seven months with a knee injury.

The current world No. 5 beat the Argentine 6-2, 6-3.

Far from the level he showed in the rest of the tournament, Nalbandian could only cope with Nadal in the first three games of the second set.

For former world No.1 this was the 51st title of his career, and the 36th that achieved on clay. The latest title from Nadal had been the Grand Slam at Roland Garros in 2012.

Meanwhile, Nalbandian has been two years without winning an ATP title.
