David Nalbandian and Rafael Nadal left the ATP of Sao Paulo

Brazil, February 14, 2013

The duo composed of Spanish Rafael Nadal and David Nalbandian announced that they’ll ‘leave the doubles tournament in Sao Paulo to focus on the individual careers’.

Nadal and Nalbandian on Tuesday advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles by winning 6/3, 3/6 and 11/9 against the Spanish Pablo Andujar and Guillermo Garcia Lopez.

They had to play against Horacio Zeballos and Austrian Oliver Marach for a place in the semis, but automatically abandoned before the game.

The couple said: “we prefer to preserve the physical and focus our efforts on their individual commitments, as both have big games scheduled.”
