Necochea: The city council ousted Mayor Horacio Tellechea

The City Council last night dismissed Necochea mayor Horacio Tellechea by irregularities in the purchase of medical appliances to the local hospital for about 2 million pesos.
In a special session that lasted nearly nine hours, finally the vote of the council took place around 23:00, with a result of 12 votes in favor, 5 against and one abstention, realizing the two-thirds required by law for a dismissal.
Thus, the Selectmen decided to dismissed the mayor, who did not attend the exhibition but filed his written in 120 pages.
Despite the dismissal, Tellechea continue for the time in office and would appeal to the Supreme Court of Buenos Aires, which suspends the dismissal until the Supreme Court on the legality of the process.
In his defense, Tellechea had asked this afternoon to Council block opponents to move out of his “coup role” and said he was not “duly accredited any irregular maneuver that deserves some punishment.”
