Indian government officials and Argentina strengthen bilateral relations

The Indian Foreign Minister, Salman Khurshid, ended his official visit to Argentina with a separate meeting with President Cristina Fernandez, and his counterpart, Hector Timerman, Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting with Timerman, the foreign ministers agreed to enhance cooperation in energy, agriculture, science and technology.
The Indian Foreign Minister said that a delegation of Indian companies will soon visit Argentina “in order to know the investment opportunities in oil and gas as well as renewable energy,” the sources added.
They also agreed to have ready in the first half of the year, a Memorandum of Understanding in SPS.
Timerman and Khurshid also pledged to coordinate their positions in the multilateral agenda, such as the reform of the international financial architecture and the need to review the quota formula IMF negotiations within the G20 and WTO.
According to Indian news agency IANS, Fernandez thanked “the Indian Government for its support in the vote of no confidence by IMF and the Malvinas issue”.
