Rodriguez Larreta denied having tempted Tinelli to participate in politics

The strategy is not new or unique. It has been already tried by several political parties around the world and even in Argentina in recent times. The PRO, which already convinced Miguel Del Sel tempted to participate in politics, would have tried to convince the popular television host Marcelo Tinelli to propose him as Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires in 2015. However, sources from the party denied the rumor.

Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, cabinet chief of the City’s adminsitration, was the one who denied the rumor. “Before I read rumors in the media, I want to clarify that we did not talk with Tinelli about the possibility of joining him with us in politics,” he said.

“With Marcelo we talk about football (mostly of Racing and San Lorenzo), but never about political candidates” he added.

Meanwhile, from the host’s environment ensured that Tinelli “would not accept something like that in any way.”

“He’s not interested in politics at all, beyond what they do in San Lorenzo” they concluded.
