Piccardo: “The works in the Line H are paralyzed”

Argentina, February 7, 2013

Juan Pablo Piccardo (photo), president of SBASE, said today that the works planned to extend the Line H are momentarily slowed because one of its stations would be relocated to the Faculty of Law of the University of Buenos Aires.

However, he said that “it should be done, but because of an organization of neighbors we must face the delay and cost.”

He added “the priority and resources are allocated to the transfer and investment in safety and emergency,” said Piccardo about the reasons why the works are paralyzed.

Moreover, the president of the SBASE analyzes an alternative plan that already circulates in the Legislature to relocate the station originally planned to be built in Plaza Francia to the area of the Faculty of Law, “which would unify Retiro with the Line C and H forming a horseshoe”.

Finally, Piccardo concluded “if it is clear and is approved, there are resources to advance towards the relocation of the station.”
