The taxi driver that killed Leonela Noble said he “fainted before the crash”

The driver who struck and killed Leonela Noble, Rubén Darío Botta, told the judge that inquired him at Fernandez Hospital that he does not remember the moment of impact. Now, the Justice has ten days to resolve his legal situation.

The accident left one dead and five injured after the taxi driver was driving in the Santa Fe Avenue at the height of Montevideo.

Botta is hospitalized and detained with police custody. According to court spokesman, he said he fainted and suffered a decompensation for being a diabetic patient.

While some bystanders attacked and beat the driver after the crash, he remains hospitalized in Fernandez Hospitan just by getting a peak of hypoglycemia.

The medical report will be key to determining whether it is true that suffered a decompensation for his diabetes the day of the accident.
