De Vido said the President “is the best choice for 2015″

Federal Planning Minister Julio de Vido defended a possible re-election of President Cristina Kirchner, saying she is his “candidate” and “the best choice” for the 2015 elections.

He reiterated his support for a constitutional reform that eventually will enable a new presidential term for Cristina, and stated that the amendment of the Constitution “is in no way injurious to democratic life, quite the opposite.”

He added, “She is my candidate. This is beyond what is her will. I think she is the best political leader to face a new period and consolidate what has been done since 2003 to date.”

“I’m getting ahead, this is an election year, and there are elections. Undoubtedly, the outcome of these depends, somehow, Argentina’s political future,” he continued.

For De Vido, “not only the question of what is going to legislate from 2013 to 2015, would also be the possibility of having an important victory of the ruling party, to access a constitutional amendment.”
