Davis Cup: “Pico” Monaco defeated Mayer

Juan “Pico” Monaco beat German Florian Mayer 6-7 (4-7), 6-3. 6-3 and 6-4 and took second spot in the series for Argentina against Germany in the framework of the Davis Cup.
The first point was got by Carlos Berlocq, after his opponent Philipp Kohlschreiber withdrew due to an injury at the end of the fifth set.
The Argentine team led by Martin Jaite may reach the quarterfinals tomorrow if it wins the doubles from 1 pm.
David Nalbandian (88) and Horacio Zeballos marplatense (71) will play against Germans Christopher Kas (69 in the rankings of pairs) and Mayer and Tobias Kamke (93).
However, if Argentina cannot win that game will have two more chances on Sunday.
