La Rioja: Girl, 12, gives birth to twins

A 12-year-old girl gave birth to twins in the province of La Rioja, apparently after being raped by a 16 years old teenager.

Babies born prematurely by Caesarean section and are under observation. While her mother remains in the hospital “Enrique Vera Barros” by an infection, but gradually recovered from that picture. A group of psychologists contained her before delivery.

Courts of Chilecito City will try to determine under what circumstances the girl became pregnant, but all eyes point to a teenager.

The family of the girl, of very humble origin, made the allegation in December, when her mother noticed that the child was five months pregnant.

A local radio station held a solidarity campaign to help this family.
