Real Madrid and Barcelona drew 1-1 on Wednesday the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals, leaving open the pass to the next stage.
Cesc Fabregas scored the goal of his team to cross a ball to the exit of Diego Lopez, but soon young Frenchman Raphael Varane tied the game.
In a match in which both teams had many inaccuracies, Real Madrid came out very determined to press ahead.
The Catalans, reigning champions of the Copa del Rey, struggled to deploy their game in a match in which it had to wait for the second time to find its touch.
Barca, however, had a great chance on 21 minutes when Xavi Hernandez took a free kick from the edge of the box that hit the crossbar of the goal defended by Diego Lopez, Sevilla goalkeeper recently signed by the Iker Casillas’ injury.
