Maxima Zorreguieta to be the new queen of Holland

Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands announced the abdication of the throne in favor of her son Willem Alexander through a national TV message.

Consequently, the wife of the prince, Maxima Zorreguieta will be the new queen.

“With the greatest confidence, I delivered on April 30 the throne to my son William and his wife Maxima”, said Beatrice.

In 2011, the Dutch parliament passed the laws necessary for her to take the title of “Queen of the Netherlands”, when Beatriz abdicate.

Queen Beatrix reigned since 1980, when her mother Queen Juliana that year resigned the throne in her favor.

Maxima married in 2002 to Prince and fruit of this marriage were born princesses Catharina-Amalia, Ariane and Alexa.
