Gerard Piqué uploaded a photo of his son, showing his tiny feet into a pair of Nike shoes customized with the name ‘Milan’.

As a professional soccer player for FC Barcelona, Pique obviously is looking to the future and introduces his child to the sport.

Colombian singer Shakira and Piqué wrote on Twitter: ‘We are delighted to announce the birth of Milan Mebarak Piqué, son of Gerard Pique and Shakira Mebarak, born on January 22 at 21:36 in Barcelona, Spain’.

Milan means dear, loving and merciful in Slavonic; in ancient Rome, enthusiastic and hard-working and in Sanskrit, unification.
