The economic train service which covers Constitucion – Mar del Plata this Friday was suspended “indefinitely” because of the conditions of the cars, and passengers will be transported by bus, according to the provisions of the company Ferrobaires.

Ferrobaires general manager, Antonio Maltana, made the announcement adding that it only reaches the so-called economic service, which started daily to Mar del Plata at 8:05 am and returned to Buenos Aires at 16:56.

The passengers were about to board the train when they learned of the official decision and an operation began to move them in 12 buses that were waiting outside the terminal, down the street General Hornos.

“Yesterday I personally made an inspection and realized that the train, in clean condition it is in, is not able to be addressed with some comfort,” said Ferrobaires manager.

For his part, Minister of Interior and Transportation Florencio Randazzo said Friday at a press conference that “service is provided by the Province of Buenos Aires” and therefore “it is not national government responsibility” in the cancellation of the same.
