Interior Minister and Transport Florencio Randazzo said the new subway rate to 3.50 hurt the rest transportation.
“We hope they understand that our arguments are not capricious, and understand that public transport involves a lot of zones, and that the increase of the subway will bring many problems,” said Randazzo.
He added after leaving a meeting with city government officials: “Unfortunately the City representatives reported that Mauricio Macri is unwilling to back down with the increase of $ 3.5 in March.”
“We believe that an increase as the proposed by Macri will unbalance the system, displacing the users of the subway to the rest of the public transport,” the minister added.
“When the January 5 last year they assumed responsibility for administering the subways, Macri rate increased by 127%. Automatically there was a shift of 20% of users of the subway that went to other transport.”
“So we try to make him understand the damage that will generate in the entire citizenry a rise in the subway,” he said.
