President Cristina Kirchner today renewed her claim to Britain over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, after meeting with her counterpart from Indonesia, Susilo Yudhoyono, in the context of commercial tour launched in Southeast Asia.

The president reconvened the dialogue to London for the sovereignty of the islands and asked the British to “respect international resolutions just as the United Nations.”

During the press conference after the meeting, which took place at the Government Palace in the city of Jakarta, Cristina Kirchner conveyed her “deep gratitude” to the Asian nation for the “permanent support in Malvinas case”.

The head of state said that Argentina seems “absolutely unfair or unjust that if the ruling is favourable or recognizes the rights of countries that are not actors, totally ignoring it, it systematically violates and subjected to attacks like we are suffering from the United Kingdom.”
