Railways: national strike for next Tuesday

Union Railway Fraternity repudiating the Trochita service shutdown, in Chubut, called for a national strike of 24 hours.

Sources unionists announced for next Tuesday, “A nationwide strike on passenger trains and freight across the country to protest the closure of the Trochita, serving in the path of the Chubut localities Maitén-Esquel”.

In a press release this morning explaining that “The aim of the measure is to support the 66 families left jobless and isolated from the province.”

According to local newspaper Jornada: “The Government ratified the decision to suspend the services of the Trochita after receiving a report of the National Commission for Transport Regulation which warned technical problems in training and infrastructure. Also it was learned that maturity were detected in personnel clearances driving machines and recommended training operators.”
