Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is recovering “in a good way” in Cuba and he is not in a coma, as it has been rumoured in social networks, his brother and governor of Barinas state (southwest) Adan Chavez said on Saturday.
“They are totally false information that circulated through social networks and other media, which said the president is in a coma and that the family was discussing the alleged disconnection of equipment that will lengthen the life,” said Adam Chavez.
The Venezuelan president, 58, “continues to assimilate the treatment in a good way and every day progresses in his recovery,” said his brother, who came home on Friday from Havana, where the family has remained.
The president has a “steady state” of respiratory failure after undergoing fourth cancer surgery in Cuba, according to the latest government report released Monday.
