Leo Messi won the fourth consecutive Golden Ball

The Argentine player won the award for best footballer of 2012, over Cristiano Ronaldo and Andres Iniesta, so, at age 25, the Barcelona striker becomes the footballer, who received the award more times.

The mark of 91 goals allowed the “Flea” break the record of German Gerd Müller, who held the sum of 85 goals in 1972.

Messi beat great football legends as the Dutch Johan Cruyff and Marco Van Basten and Frenchman Michel Platini, who was elected three times.
